Welcome to Rhode Islanders for Fair Elections

Rhode Islanders for Fair Elections is a coalition of organizations and individuals working tirelessly to pass necessary campaign finance reforms such as the Rhode Island Fair Elections Act and disclosure legislation.

We believe:

• that all Rhode Islanders deserve the equal right to run for office!
• that publicly financed elections would lessen the undue influences of private campaign contributions!
• that such a system would increase voter participation, and increase the responsiveness of government to its constituents!

Under this system, any candidate for state level office, who can demonstrate significant grassroots support can qualify to receive public funding with which to run their campaign.

We are also advocating for a Disclosure Law that will modernize Rhode Island's current laws about campaign contribution disclosure, while making information more accessible and available for Rhode Islanders.
